Kiln-dried, smooth-planed redwood timber boards are mounted to a substantial framework, in an overlap construction (with 20mm wall thickness at the overlaps), to give a traditional and attractive featheredge appearance. The steeply pitched roof gives the building a distinct style and offers plenty of headroom. Shelves can be readily inserted at the back of the shed, making full use of the roof space as a place for storage. The floor and roof use interlocking, smooth-planed and pressure-treated boards and the floor is mounted on pressure-treated bearers to protect it from ground contact. The roof is finished with high quality Canadian red cedar shingles that over time will develop to a subtle grey. The 2 opening windows are glazed with 4mm toughened glass.
